20 Apr Spring, the season of renewal and new projects
I love the spring.
In the area where I live springtime is an explosion of blossoming nature and new life.
This season of the year doesn’t just affect nature.
I feel it. My family feels it. We take every small opportunity to stay outside longer, to feel the warmth of the sun, enjoy the daylight and start making plans for our summer holidays.
I realize that for me, spring is a time for renewal.
This “new” applies to everything. My wardrobe, the house, and even more important projects.
Spring has always given me fresh energy to apply in every field of my life.
It was spring when my boyfriend (now husband) and I decided we were ready to live together.
It was spring when we got married.
It was spring when I realized I was ready to be a mother. I had always thought I was ok without children since I believed motherhood was too hard, too difficult for me. No certainties and too many responsibilities. Then (don’t ask me why… because I don’t know!) I just changed my mind. I woke up one beautiful sunny spring day and knew that I wanted to have babies. About one year later I had my daughter, Giulia. And a few years later, my son, Davide. I still think motherhood is hard and full of responsibilities, but I’m so grateful and happy with it!
It was spring when I took the plunge and left my corporate job to start my own business. I had been entertaining the idea for some time… but I remember it was the end of March when I realized the right time had come.
By the way, in the past few days, (first week of April) we have changed one piece of furniture in our house. We have replaced an old piece with a new one! Just a simple unit in our hallway, which really brightens up the space as it’s white and red and contrasts beautifully with our traditional décor! I love it! It’s just one item but it’s enough for me to feel the house is somehow different. It’s somehow… new! And I love new beginnings.
Spring fills me with great optimism and a new energy to enjoy life, to work at new projects, to plan new trips and to share this feeling with the people in my life: family, friends, clients and people I’m somehow connected with.
Does springtime have the same effect on you?
